Dear Melkonian Alumni and Friends

I thank you very much for your gallant and blessed work that you are doing for the cause of our beloved Melkonian.
With heart warming honor I received the Newsletter of the publication of the Melkonian Alumni and Friends (Issue No. 5).
I will endeavor to support the cause of all of us, that once walked into those memorable doors as children, and walked out of them years later, as head high respectable Armenians into different parts of Diaspora.
Please accept my thanks and best wishes for your effortless hard work for a nobel cause. Getsez Polorit.

The hallmark of independent thinking is the antithesis of an obedient monolithic dictates. The divisive tactics of late have but one objective: to sow discord between allegiances and therefore divide and command obedience. This short term objective does not bode well to our long term objective: To salvage our western Armenian Language in the only relative atmosphere of tranquility in the ME. The financial difficulties currently experienced in CY will be resolved. The Cyprus people are a resilient bunch and they will work through this; but to start a whole  setup elsewhere takes a quadruple  financial effort  ( Of geometric proportions ) as opposed to modernizing the present facility ( I know something about  Development ) and establishing a modern curriculum with the a cadre of Armenian  teachers and professionals, foreign professionals, linguists, scientists  from Armenia and overseas, before that dwindling pool of resources is forever gone,  to infuse a  rebirth of the Melkonian Legacy (PHASE 2,if you will) and regenerate the intent of  the brothers Melkonian  for the next 100 years.
This dream is for ideas people, who do not want to discard the noble dream which now demands vision and creativity and not discard   the NOBLE Enterprise to the trash heap of history. This is the true challenge to those who had the trust of KRIKOR & GARABED.

Ինչպէս ասում է հայ բանաստեղծը՝ «Դու իմանում ես Ռուսերէն, շատ լաւ իմանում ես Անգլերէն, ֆրանսերէն, շատ շատ լաւ, բայց չես իմանում քո մայրենի լեզուն՝ աշխարհը քեզի համար մի թարգմանութիւն է»:
Արդ, «թարգմանուած աշխարհին» պատկանող, այսպէս կոչուած «ծագումով հայ»ը շոգեկառք (գնացք) չի նստում, այլ «կը վերցնի», դրամ չի վաստակում, այլ դոլար «կը շինի»... Թէ այդ երանելին «կարող է իրան հայ զգալ», այդ էլ կախեալ է իր երեւակայութիւնից:»

Մելգոնեանցիի մը տեսակէտը: "Լեզուն որ չ'ըլլի, մարդ Սեդրակեան կ'ըլլի...."!!!

No to Latest Tactics … Let brotherly love continue …

Finger pointing and name calling by the chairman of the new alumni and its members, will neither start conflict of opinions among MAF members and degrade the historical work of dedicated group of Melkoniantsis nor will it attract young Melkonian graduates to join them. Their bond is strong and non-destructible. You cannot go worldwide, as wolves wearing the fleece of sheep, the closure of Melkonian left a wound so deep that it seems you don’t feel the pain. You cannot reverse the past; you are riding the wrong train, get off; your actions will only create animosity and hatred.
 
We advise you to act as conscious and mature individuals, look into the mirror, find out who you are, the mirror does not lie, much older than the day you left Melkonian, but unfortunately it cannot tell if you are wiser even with grey hair. The youngest graduate now is 30 years old.  They don’t bear arms; the trenched fighters are in their sixties and seventies. You are fighting the war of someone else; your imaginary war is over! Now, let us be honest, what is your problem with your Melkoniantsi brothers? Did they prove to be more attached to the School that gave them food, shelter and education? For many years we worked together, true, we had our differences but we always achieved our goals. Our School is dead but not buried. They are looking for undertakers.

Never be manipulated by those who plan to destroy the existence of the group who had the courage to argue and deny the devastating decision to close Melkonian Institute. Today, their target is us, the brave ones, tomorrow, you will be next on the list, because your services will be terminated and you will be on your own, like prodigal sons. Reconcile with your Old Combatants. Short reckonings make long friends.
